The QX3 microscope has now been employed across the whole primary age range within our school. There are endless possibilities for its use within National Curriculum subjects, the most obvious being Science. For example in year 4, we used the live mode to view minibeasts, including watching a woodlouse give birth to 5 babies. This generated much enthusiasm amongst the pupils. The snapshots were exported to a word processor and text added to complete the science experiments. The software was easy to install and the children were able to use it with the minimum of help.
